Bridle repair question

I have a headstall that I really like. It's nothing really special, but I haven't been able to find a replacement I like. My horse has a wide head.

The problem is that it's not wide enough in the browband. I dislike the single ear headstalls for trail riding.

So my question is, if I took this to a leather shop, could they take it apart and add 1.5 inches to the browband? Would that work, or is it a bad idea? I guess they could make an entirely new browband, but I'm not sure it would match.

Any opinions? Anyone ever done this before?

You can order different size browbands depending on the color or style of your bridle.

Oh yeah theres all kinds of out there that you can order, but the way I understood that you wanted to keep the one you have now and just make it a bit longer to fix.

Can you post a picture of the headstall?

@My Salty Pony Here are the ones I was going to modify. I doubt I'll ever get a different horse in my life, so if I can't make this work, I might give them to someone I know (a fellow tack and horse hoarder) and buy another one someday. I do have a nice one that fits him well. These are put together the usual way - loop in the end with a concho tie.

I like the narrow one best, but it's seen some years and miles.

Easiest way to do that (least amount of stitching) would probably be to cut the existing browband in the centre and stitch an extra piece in. If the leather colour can be matched it should look like it was supposed to be there to begin with.
